Los Chidos

Shocking and slyly provoking audiences at this yearâ€TMs SXSW, LOS CHIDOS follows an extended Mexican family, whose lazy days are spent gossiping and eating tacos at their rundown tire repair shop south of the border â€" until a mysterious gringo with a flat rolls into their life and shakes up their insular world. With a vision reminiscent of early Almodovar, director Omar Rodriguez Lopez (the Grammy-winning guitarist of Mars Volta) crafts a gonzo satire, taking square aim at modern-day machismo while sending up every Latino cliché in the book. - Lauren Wissot
